1989 Ford SHO JBL Audio Cassette Cleaning Kit

I managed to find a 1989 Ford SHO JBL Audio Cassette Cleaning kit...This piece was original to 1989 Ford Taurus SHOs.....this completes my glove box!

ChopperTown: The Sinners Documentary

Yet another title I acquired from Amazon...Choopertown: The Sinners. This is not like your American Chopper reality show...more real (yet unreal) at the same time. Documentary of a chopper buildup by members of the Sinners in California. Overall decent to watch but there are parts that are just downright boring...like the hair cut scene. Good comradery among the sinners which is hard to come by in the world. I give this one 3 1/2 stars out of 5 due to a few boring and strange parts...:)

DVD Hot Rods, Rat Roads &Kustom Kulture

I picked up this dvd on Amazon for $4....great documentary! This dvd is all about well known and not so well know hot rod and rat rod builders. This is what hot rod building is all about!
Fabricator Ian Roussel builds a rat rod from his own treasure trove of parts for the Viva Las Vegas car show which I plan on going to someday. This movie is not for the posers out there who want to slap a big wing on their car nor those who are trying to make their car flashy. These cars are rusty, beat up, no paint, primered, dented up, etc.-- but the builders and owners drive them everyday and are proud of them..exactly the way it should be. If you are really into cars you should check this out! I give it 4 out of 5 stars (Gullion rating system--you can bank on that).

Probe GT EQ with Jump Harness

As luck would have it I found a Probe GT EQ with the jumper harness and power cord! This will make matters a ton easier to install. I also bought a lot of Ford SHO console parts on Ebay for $10. All the console parts are for sale in the picture except for the shift boot and dome cubby. I was really just after the dome shaped console which I am going to fab the probe GT EZ up in....I am going to use 3/4 wood as the mount and then glue 3/8 black PVC plastic to the front of it to give it a finished look. I may end up having the local upholsterer color match my gray leather interior and wrap the front in that instead...then mount the EQ in the console cubby. I wanted to get another console since mine presently has a CB mouted in it which I am going to take out. It seems to be coming together....

Ford Probe GT Equalizer Project

Wiring Diagrams...I am going to wire a Ford Probe GT EQ to my stock JBL AM FM Cassette Radio. Jelloslug was kind enough to send me the harness wiring diagrams since I do not have the jump harness nor the power cable. Time to break out the soldering iron and do some custom work..:)

From: jelloslug@mindspring.com: "It would be very easy to install in your '89. When you get your EQ try and get the jumper harness that goes from the head unit to the EQ. You will also need the power connector. You can splice the power connector into the existing radio power wiring. If you are using the Ford JBL AM/FM tape deck without any other FACTORY slave devices (CD player, 10 disk changers, etc.) you will need to clip the "status" and "signal return" connections. If you are using a Ford JBL AM/FM CD player you don't have to clip anything. Here are some diagrams for the pins on the EQ:NOTE: the pin numbers are wrong on the C253 diagram. "

New Tailgate....Finally!

The search for the tailgate has finally ended...I found a really nice one and had it shipped to me from Arizona! Overall a nice gate...I removed the original handles and I am working the metal at this point...there was surface rust under them which I took down to the bare metal to get rid off. The gate took some adjusting to get it mounted up correctly and flush but I like it a lot better than the Turbo gate. This is a custom gate...the tie downs have been shaved at some point....I paid $69.99 for the gate ...fairly decent price. I still have a tialgate for a '73 model Luv and a very nice tailgate for a '72 model Luv if someone is interested in buying them. $100 for the white gate and $175 for the baby blue '72 gate....A few pictures of the new tailgate...Update! 6/29/07...the white chevy luv tailgate has sold!!!!!!! I still have the minty baby blue tailgate for sale now without the handles...price reduced...$150!

My NOS Chevy Luv HEart Rims

The search has paid off ...after 3 years...NOS Chevy Luv Heart Rims...purchased for $340 on Ebay...it was a steal! :) These are not for sale unless your pockets are really deep. I will not let them go for less than $1500 as the search has taken so long and also..these have to be the last ones that are NOS and on planet Earth! :)
Update!!!! 7/1/07 Chevy Luv Heart Rims have SOLD! I found a buyer who just could not resist!!! :D

Front end paint action on the SHO

I got tired of looking at the rock torn front end on the SHO this afternoon so I attacked it with some sanding action and Krylon paint. The Krylon paint is actually made for painting plastic hubcaps so I thought I would give it a try...anything would look better than the black plastic showing through spotted paint look. After sanding for a while I hit it with the Krylon paint and it matches fairly good...it is a 10 footer, but looks way better than before. The front air dam has a 3 inch tear in it which I repaired with gorilla glue (not my style but a $2 repair is better than a $600 repair)..I temporarily glued the tear about 2 months ago and it has held all this time so I glued the rest of the tear...then painted over it....looks way better. I spent the rest of the time cleaning and polishing the front end which has not seem any sort of soap or wax in several years from the looks of it....I got at least 85% of the road grime, tar and bugs off the car which have been stuck to the front end since I bought it. I will snap some pictures tommorrow. Looks way better in the front now! :)

Classic Chevy Truck...I think a '38
