Craigs List Trailer

I bought this old Ford Courier trailer off of Craigs list. I took the headache rack off and mounted it to my Chevy Luv..perfect fit and worth the money alone! I am presently cleaning the trailer up....body and paint work right now then I will attack the frame and clean that up as well. More to come...

SHO AC Delete Pulley Install Coming Soon

I am getting ready to pull all the AC equipment from my 89 SHO and install this AC delete pulley...dont worry...the AC no longer works on the SHO so no big loss....I will pick up a few extra horses with the delete pulley...thumbs up!

Rustoleum Antique White -- Great Paint!

This is the paint I am using on the Luv...antique white in gloss..made by Rustoleum. I really like this high quality paint!

I have to admit that this color paint is not that easy to find in the North Texas area for some reason.

Two tone Paint Job

Well I got tired of waiting for others to paint my truck for money so I am going to do it myself. ...after all, it doesnt need to be perfect to make runs to Lowes in it. I am going with black and antique white..two tone paint scheme. I am only going to paint small sections at a time....This is the beginning. Definitely a 10 footer but looks better than primer!

Next Project--Vintage Tractor!

I have always had a fondness for old tractors. After I am through restoring my Luv I am going to start resto on a vintage tractor! I think it would be fun and I could use it in the future when we buy our next house with more land! Here is one I found for sale on Ebay! I like the steel wheels in the back....those are rare!

Finally decided to clean out my garage this weekend so it was time to roll the Luv out into the Sun which it has not seen in over a year!!! She is dirty as all get out in the pictures but this is where she presently stands. I have been working on it little by little over the past year and it has come a tremendous ways if you can believe it!

Passenger Side Sail...bondo action

I have finally finished with the minor body work and rattle can painting on the rear of the SHO! I cannot say I am pleased with how the paint turned out but who can complain out of a spray can. I used bondo to fill in four minor dents on the passenger side sail...less is more in the case of bondo.

Back in the late 80's, Racing Beat's was approached by Mazda USA with a request to prepare a unique pickup truck to help bolster the sales of the B2000 pickup truck line. After the boom of the mini-truck craze in the late 70's and early 80's, mini-truck sales started to slow as sales of the full-size truck, SUV and minivan started to accelerate.

Racing Beat presented Mazda with a proposal for a "water craft" based vehicle that would demonstrate the convenience and versatility of this compact truck. The idea of a jet-ski was incorporated into the project as an ideal way to demonstrate this versatility and capture the "cool" California beach atmosphere.

The base vehicle is a 1989 Mazda B-Series truck that was originally equipped with a standard 4-cyclinder engine. Wanting to match the attitude and style of this revived "beach-ready" machine, the original engine was removed, and in went a 1987 RX-7 TURBO II engine mated to a fully automatic transmission. Horsepower jumped from a pathetic sub-100 HP, to over 200 HP after installation of the rotary engine and exhaust!

Next, out came the stock interior and in went customized Connelly-leather seats and door panels, a Panasonic stereo system, and body-matching color trim stitching.
The bed of the truck included several VERY unique features! Since the truck was designed to show just how quickly a jet-ski could be unloaded from the bed, a unique "lock-down" system was developed to quickly secure the ski in place. Take a close look a the rear wing on the car and you will notice that it is hinged about halfway back along the bed and when lowered, the wing fully incorporates into the side panels. Once the wing is lowered and securely locked into place, the rear of the jet ski is prevented from moving. Also incorporated into the bed of the truck are two guide rails that hold the ski from moving laterally.

But clearly the most unique feature is located at the nose of the ski! Once the ski is placed in the bed and the wing lowered, a stainless-steel locking pin is actuated by applying the brake pedal. This locking pin extends through the tie-off hole in the nose of the ski, and prevents the ski from moving rearward once the truck applies the rotary power and gets underway! A cockpit mounted button allows the retaining pin to retract and the wing to lift so that the jet-ski can quickly be removed.

The fiberglass bodywork design was developed by automotive designer Ric Shields, and was custom fabricated in the Racing Beat facilities. The final paint and graphics scheme were applied with custom paint and graphics by Orange Body and Paint (Remember, ecomonical vinyl decals didn't emerge until the mid-90's).

We are offering this truck and jet ski as a package deal. The truck has seen VERY little road time in the past several years and has been collecting dust in the corner of the warehouse. We need the space as our inventory grows- so the truck must go!

• The Kawasaki jet ski is included, but we have not started this in several years and are not aware of the current working condition. Although the ski indicates a 550cc model, it is only a 440cc.
• The "bronze" headlight covers shown in the photos are NOT included (in fact, we have no idea where they are!)

Mirror Repaint

I am just trying to finish up a few small projects before the Fall semester starts back up and I go back to teaching. I decided to tape of the mirrors, sand them down and repaint...the passenger side will suffice for now as it was the worst one in terms of paint peel. Looks better!

$30 Reconditioned SHO AC Compressor

I made a good deal on Ebay today and won this reconditioned Taurus SHO AC compressor for $30! I have never seen one go for under $150! Napa sells these units for $550! I replaced the clutch on the original AC compressor in my SHO and recharged the system and it works great but I bought this new unit as a backup as I know repair shops charge an arm and a leg for AC SHO parts! I really need to buy a parts '89 SHO but they are fairly rare so I will continue to accumulate parts on a piece by piece basis. I think I made out like a bandit!! :D

E78 14 Tire Score!!!!

Finally scored a New Old Stock E78 14 Tire for my Luv truck! I am now set in the wheel/tire dept! I paid $40 for the tire...Coker tires wanted $140 for one E78 14!

I ran across this picture on ChevyLuv.com....is that a baby food jar cap being used as a gas cap? :D By the way...I like the camper! Would be nice for weekend camping expeditions..too bad it is located in Oregon!

Meguiars Speed Glaze works!

Ok---I am Sold on products sold by Meguiars! My roof had loads of orange peel and after a coat of Speed Glaze and a buffer check out the results! You can see the reflection in the paint...looks brand new!
